Cheraw High School receiver Jaron Brown announced at a news conference today that he had committed to attend Clemson University on a football scholarship.
Brown, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, selected Clemson over the University of South Carolina and the University of Michigan.
A key component on back-to-back state championship teams, he caught 30 passes for 474 yards with eight touchdowns last season. Brown also was a member of the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team.
Brown gives Clemson 22 commitments. The Tigers' recruiting class is ranked in the top 15 nationally by three major services.
Commitments are not binding. Players can sign national letters of intent beginning Wednesday.
